Did that sound harsh? I’m sorry. Actually, I’m not sorry. I’m Tara Coomans. Creative Strategist. Brand-i-ac. Maniac. Piece of Work. Call me what you will, I’ve been called worse. Trust me. Much worse.
My approach to engaged marketing is simple and direct: figure out who you are, who your customers are and then create programs that engage your customer base. That’s right – I said it: ENGAGE.
I’m a straight forward girl. I put it all out there. When I think you should do something or change something, I’ll let you know. If you tell me to pound sand, I probably will head out to the beach. But, I won’t stop thinking about you. Oh, no I won’t. When I go swimming, I visualize your success, thus, my stroke really stinks. When I wake up, I often have an idea for you. I can’t help it. That’s why I call myself the Head Brainstormer. Notice, it isn’t a talking head, its a brainstormer. There is a difference you see. A brainstormer comes up with solutions to problems. A talking head just fills your brain with jargon and junk. To clarify: I’m a brainstormer, not a talking head. What this means is that together, yes, together we will identify how your company can peddle the beach cruiser of engagement.
I’m also a creative strategist. That means that I appreciate the dream as much as the solution. It means I can devise unique ideas that we can track. It means I honor the ideation creation as much as I honor the business needs that birthed the idea.

Now we have to ask, why connective marketing? Its a no-brainer (says the brainstormer), getting you closer to your customer or client gives you the chance to create brand advocates out them. As a board member of the Social Media Club Hawaii chapter, I keep up to date on the ever-changing world of social media. I feel that SMCHI allows me to deliver to my clients the latest information and the best practices being utilized today.
